robboy and jules adventures

Brotherly Love

So my brother came all the way from little Australia to visit Julie and myself this year. The first time he has left our motherland… The trip of a life time (or the first of many).

This was a whirlwind adventure for him, as we wanted to show him everything we have been enjoying in UK and Europe for the past 10yrs.

The adventure took in the Glastonbury Music Festival, Ireland (for work and Dingle fun),  Manchester (home), Hungary (Budapest and Lake Balaton), Scotland (Haggis Tour), and finally London (to see the awesome Punchdrunk production The Drowned Man).

The reason for the post though?

I wanted to share my photo of one of the turbines I have built in county Limerick, Ireland. A project that is called Dromdeeveen. I took my brother for a drive to show him what I did for a living and how big and amazing they are up close (personal opinion, as I understand there are lots of people with the opposite view)…

14x Vestas V80 2MW Mk7 turbines (for all you turbine spotters out there), and a field of fox gloves on a sunny day.

It was such unusually warm and sunny weather in Ireland that as we were driving to the wind farm, the weather report came on and started very normally until it announced the weather for the weekend to be incredibly warm and sunny. This was then immediately followed by “HALLELUJAH”. (I guess you probably needed to be there…)
